MICHAEL GODARD – “OLIVE THE OTHER REINDEER”
Signed & Numbered Limited Edition Giclée on Canvas – 102/210 – COA
Apparently, the North Pole Christmas party got a little out of hand.
Offered here is Michael Godard’s hilarious “Olive the Other Reindeer,” released in October 2005—a Christmas scene that proves reindeer, olives, martinis, and good judgment don’t necessarily belong in the same room.

SANTA MAY WANT TO CALL HR...
On the wall is a sign reading “Used to Laugh and Call Him Names…” with the offending reindeer crossed off one by one.
Almost.
Vixen is still on the list because, well… she’s a vixen.
And Godard leaves very little doubt about it. She’s stretched across Olive’s lap wearing a see-through negligee and enjoying a martini containing a particularly recognizable Christmas garnish—Rudolph’s glowing red nose.
Apparently Rudolph had a rough night.
Then there’s Dancer, who is doing exactly what his name suggests. Unfortunately for him, Olive has had enough and is preparing to “bust a cork” in his direction with his trusty Vino gun.
Meanwhile, the television reports “Santa Missing,” a phonograph is playing, the drinks are flowing, and nobody seems particularly concerned about where Santa actually went.
In other words, it’s Christmas—Godard style.
The longer you look at the composition, the more jokes and small details you discover. Godard has taken the innocent world of Santa’s reindeer and turned it into a wonderfully irreverent cocktail party that probably won’t be appearing in a Hallmark Christmas movie anytime soon.
SOLD OUT FOR YEARS — AND WHAT A JOURNEY
This edition has been sold out for years, and this particular example has had quite the journey—without ever leaving its original protective wrapper.
From Las Vegas to La Jolla, then Scottsdale, Arizona, and finally Carmel, California, this artwork has traveled more than many people do, all while remaining safely stored and protected.
After all those years and all those miles, the artwork was removed from its original wrapper for the very first time on August 8, 2026, solely so it could be photographed and offered here on eBay.
So while Olive, Vixen, and Dancer clearly haven't behaved themselves over the years, the artwork certainly has.
It has never been framed, never displayed, and never hung on a wall—an exceptional opportunity to acquire a sold-out Michael Godard edition essentially as it was originally received.
A GREAT GODARD COLLECTOR PIECE
This example is number 102 of only 210 in the signed and numbered edition and is hand-signed by Michael Godard in the lower right.
The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity and Limitation confirms the edition and production details.
With its deep black background, brilliant Christmas colors, and unmistakable Godard humor, Olive the Other Reindeer is a fantastic addition to a serious Michael Godard collection—and probably one of the few Christmas artworks that gets less appropriate the longer you look at it.
