This particular example is from the G Edition of only 250 and is individually hand-signed and numbered by Michael Godard. Carroll Shelby • Ken Miles • Phil Hill • Dan Gurney
Rather than simply placing their names somewhere in the composition, Godard worked them into the lines, cracks and texture of the racetrack itself, making the names appear almost as though they have been permanently etched into the asphalt beneath the Cobra.
It's a subtle detail that can easily be missed when first viewing the artwork. Once you discover the names, however, they add an entirely different dimension to the piece.
