JUST ANOTHER QUIET DAY IN PARADISE...
At first glance, Sandbar 2 looks like the perfect tropical getaway: brilliant blue water, lush islands, palm trees, water skiing, parasailing, fishing, and even a volcano erupting in the distance.
Then you start looking closer.
And that's when things get interesting.
Above the water, Godard's famous olives are doing their best to turn paradise into an insurance claim.
One olive is water skiing, another is being dragged through the sky on a parasail, while another appears to be having considerably less success staying aboard his inflatable raft.
Meanwhile, one lucky fisherman has hooked something considerably larger than expected—a marlin exploding out of the water.
And in the distance?
A volcano is erupting.
Nobody seems particularly concerned.
Apparently, happy hour is still on.
BUT THE REAL PARTY IS UNDERWATER...
Below the surface, the scene becomes pure Godard.
A pirate skeleton has apparently been sitting on the ocean floor for quite some time—but at least he still has his drink.
Next to him is a suspiciously happy crab who appears to have discovered the pirate's liquor supply and is wasting absolutely no time helping himself.
There's a sunken pirate ship, treasure, sea life, a shark, and enough evidence scattered around the ocean floor to suggest that whatever happened here probably involved alcohol.
Even the shark looks like he's wondering what these people were drinking.
THE LONGER YOU LOOK, THE MORE YOU FIND
That is what makes Sandbar 2 such a fun Godard image.
From across the room, it's a beautiful tropical seascape filled with brilliant blues and greens.
Get closer and suddenly you're discovering drunken crustaceans, skeleton pirates, martinis, shipwrecks, daredevil olives, exploding volcanoes, and questionable decisions everywhere you look.

From Las Vegas to La Jolla, then Scottsdale, Arizona, and finally Carmel, California, this artwork has traveled more than many people do, all while remaining safely stored and protected in its original wrapper.
After all those years and all those miles, the artwork was removed from its original wrapper for the very first time on August 8, 2026, solely so it could be photographed and offered here on eBay.
It has never been framed, never displayed, and never hung on a wall.
So while the olives in Sandbar 2 have been water skiing, parasailing, fishing, drinking, and generally causing trouble…
